So these are the two photos I chose to compare. I really like the look of this old barn. I also like how different the barn can be perceived when it is not centered in the picture. Each picture gives a nice look of the barn, however I really like the the picture with the barn to the left. With the picture to the side you are able to see more of the landscape that surrounds the barn and I feel it gives the picture a little more character.

I really like these pictures. I love the old barn look. A lot of times when you do pictures in thirds they don't look as good but even the barn in a third it looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteI think that the picture with the barn to the side makes it look like its not the center of attention and less important. It puts it to the side of a whole landscape where the picture with the barn in the middle make the barn the center of attention and the focus. I actually like the picture with the barn in the middle the best but both are very well taken.
ReplyDeleteI must agree with Rachel I find the photo with the barn centered more appealling. perhaps if the picture was taken closer while using rule of thirds the barn would be more of the focal point. You chose a great subject and I think the lighting was great for the mood of these pictures.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI also like the photo with the barn as the center of attention. It looks like it has a story to tell. Majestic and weathered, grayed with time. It is a great shot. Maria
I agree-I think the centered picture pulls your focus to the barn. I think the one with it off centered- the barn is too far left and too high - perhaps being closer would have helped. Nice subject matter.
ReplyDeleteI just love your barn photos!! I know this is an assignment of the rules of thirds, but I love the first picture on the left. I think it almost works because of the far distance and the 45 degree angle of the barn. Either way I love it. The monochromatic feel it has, with the light blue sky in the back, compliments it very nicely. Great work :)
